VA Benefits Spring 2025 & Fall 2024

  • Undergraduate full-time rate for VA benefits for Spring 2025 is 12 credits from 1/21/2025 to 5/17/2025.
  • Graduate full-time rate for Spring 2025 is 6 credits from 1/21/2025 to 5/17/2025.
  • The half time rate for Spring 2025 is 7 credits from 1/21/2025 to 5/17/2025.
  • For Spring 2025 6 credit hours does not rate the housing stipend.
  • Undergraduate full-time rate for VA benefits for Fall 2024 is 12 credits from 8/19/2024 to 12/7/2024.
  • Graduate full-time rate for Fall 2024 is 6 credits from 8/19/2024-12/7/2024 .
  • To qualify for the full monthly housing stipend you must be full time with at least one course on campus.
  • The course delivery methods that are considered on campus by the VA are the following: In-Person, Hybrid In-Person, Dual Mode: In-Person, Hyflex, SyncFlex, Field Experience, Practicum, and Internships.
  • The course delivery methods that are considered online by the VA are the following: Asynchronous Online, Synchronous Online, Dual Mode: Online, and Hybrid Online.
  • Self-Paced Asynchronous online method cannot be certified to the VA until after the semester is over and the instructor reports the dates the course worked was started and finished.
  • Classes with different start and end dates will affect the housing stipend.
  • Benefits are prorated when enrolled less than full time.
  • Post 9/11 requires enrollment of greater than half time to receive Monthly Housing Allowance.
  • Distance learning courses (online, correspondence, self-paced online) can affect Post 9/11 MHA. Contact us with questions.
  • Post 9/11 students need to submit a Certification Request no later than 8/19/2024 for Fall 2024 and 1/21/2025 for spring to avoid service fees.
  • Tuition does not need to be paid up front when a certification is submitted on time and you can disregard any notice about your balance unless you are less than 100% eligible for Post 9/11.
  • Only courses that are required for your degree can be certified.

Bachelor of Science in Aviation & Aerospace Professional Flight Officer

The following flight courses are not approved for education benefits:

AES 1500, AES 2500, AES 3520, AES 4500, AES 4510, AES 4520, AES 4530, AES 4550, AES 4570, and AES 4580

  • If you register for any of the courses/labs listed above please understand they will not be certified to the VA, and you will be required to pay the tuition and fee cost for these courses out of pocket.
    Make sure you pay close attention to the 100% drop deadlines.
  • If you would like to use your GI bill ® for flight training, you will need to do so at an approved flight school for education benefits. Also, students will not be able to use the GI Bill ® at two schools at the same time. The benefits will only pay out at one school.
  • The Aviation & Aerospace department has made some modifications to the Professional Flight Officer concentration offering two paths. Please meet with your Aviation academic advisor to ensure you fully understand the changes made to this concentration.
