Through rigorous coursework and a breadth of curriculum, the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program prepares students to successfully become registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs).
Completing the Certificate Program requirements will allow students to earn a DPD Verification Statement, which in turn makes them eligible to pursue the dietetic internship or supervised practice and become credentialed as an RDN.
*Note that as of January 1, 2024, a master’s degree is also required to pursue the RDN credential. Please see the Department of Nutrition for guidance on the best program for you.
The next priority deadline for Fall 2024 is August 1, 2024.
The next priority deadline for Spring 2025 is November 1, 2024.
The Didactic Program in Dietetics Post-Baccalaureate Certificate program accepts applicants with a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in any discipline.
Steps to Complete Application
*MSU Denver official transcripts do not need to be requested
As this program is at the undergraduate level, students can be eligible for financial aid assistance. A completed FAFSA application must be submitted. Undergraduate students must remain enrolled in a minimum of 6 undergraduate credit hours during Fall and Spring to be eligible for financial aid.

This Certificate Program is composed of a total of 73 credits. 23 credits of coursework must be taken at MSU Denver (refer to the advising guide below for more information) and the remaining courses can be taken at MSU Denver or transferred in.
Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above with a minimum grade of C in all required courses for successful completion of the certificate.
