About This Program

Bonjour! Hola! The ability to read, write and speak in another language is a valuable skill for both professional success and personal growth. Modern Languages majors learn to understand, communicate and adapt as they build global awareness and inclusive communities at home and abroad.

Option I in World Languages is an undergraduate program with two concentrations: one in French (also known as a Major in French) and one in Spanish (also known as a Major in Spanish). Each concentration is a proficiency-based area of study that uses innovative technology and teaching techniques to address current events and relevant topics in French and Spanish. Offering unique insights and experiences, the Majors in French and Spanish prepare you for diverse work environments, graduate studies and domestic and international travel.
