Fall 2024 Commencement Details

The Fall 2024 Commencement ceremonies will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024 at the Colorado Convention Center (700 14th St, Denver, CO 80202). 

Morning Ceremony | 9:30 a.m.

  • College of Aerospace, Computing, Engineering, and Design
  • College of Business
  • College of Health and Human Sciences

Afternoon Ceremony | 2:30 p.m.

  • Associate of General Studies
  • College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences
  • School of Education
  • School of Hospitality

Each ceremony will last approximately two hours. It is recommended that graduates arrive 90 minutes prior to the start of their ceremony: 8 a.m. for the morning ceremony, and 1 p.m. for the afternoon ceremony. Both ceremonies will be hosted at the Colorado Convention Center located at 700 14th St. in Denver. The ceremony will consist of performances, speeches, and most importantly, the moment graduates get to walk across the stage.

The ceremony will be livestreamed to the Commencement homepage for guests who are unable to attend in person. Family and friends are not required to register in advance, and they are not required to have tickets. There is no limit on the amount of guests each graduate can bring. Doors will open at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., and seating is first come, first served.

Event Etiquette Expectations

MSU Denver is committed to creating a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience for all guests that come to campus for an event. We value your enthusiasm and ask that all guests exercise good judgement and observe expected etiquette while at the event. Guests who violate the etiquette expectations may be subject to removal and, to the extent their conduct constitutes a violation of law, may be subject to prosecution. Under no circumstances does any of the MSU Denver event spaces allow demonstrations where the health and/or safety of a person is endangered. 

Guests have a right to expect an environment where they will: 

  • Be treated in a consistent, professional and courteous manner by fellow guests and event personnel. 
  • Enjoy an event free from disruptive behavior, including foul or abusive language or obscene gestures. 
  • Be removed if they are disrupting the event

Colorado Convention Center Discouraged Items

The following items are discouraged at all MSU Denver events:  

  • Outside food and/or beverages 
  • Glass bottles 
  • No real or simulated weapons  
  • No signs inside building unless pre-approved 
  • Drugs and/or alcohol (unless part of a reception and served by TIPS certified bartenders) 
  • Chalk, paint or other liquids such as spray paint 
  • Laser pointers or noise makers 
  • Helium balloons, stickers or adhesive backed decals  
  • Smoking of any kind is strictly prohibited (including e-cigarettes)
