An unexpected and regrettable situation occurred this morning regarding the transportation for our summer camp program.

Unfortunately, the Denver Public School buses that were scheduled and confirmed to pick up your students did not arrive as planned. Despite our best efforts, we have been unable to reach the DPS transportation department to resolve this issue promptly.

As we do not have the funds to secure alternative transportation on such short notice, we regretfully must cancel today’s programming. We understand that this is a significant inconvenience and disruption to your plans, and for that, we are truly sorry. This mishap is entirely unacceptable and we share your frustration.

Please know that we are working diligently to find a solution to prevent this from happening again. We are committed to ensuring that your students have a fantastic and enriching experience this summer, and we deeply apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment caused by today’s cancellation.

We will keep you updated with any new developments and the steps we are taking to rectify this situation. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate this challenge.

Desafortunadamente, los autobuses de las Escuelas Públicas de Denver que estaban programados para recoger a sus estudiantes no llegaron según lo planeado. A pesar de nuestros mejores esfuerzos, al momento no hemos podido comunicarnos con el departamento de transporte de DPS para resolver este problema rápidamente.

Como no tenemos los fondos para asegurar transporte alternativo en tan poco tiempo, lamentablemente debemos cancelar la programación de hoy. Entendemos que esto es un inconveniente importante y una interrupción de sus planes, y lo sentimos mil veces. Este percance es totalmente inaceptable y compartimos su frustración.

Tenga en cuenta que estamos trabajando diligentemente para encontrar una solución que evite que esto vuelva a suceder. Estamos comprometidos a garantizar que sus estudiantes tengan una experiencia fantástica y enriquecedora este verano, y nos disculpamos profundamente por las molestias y decepciones causadas por la cancelación de hoy.

MSU Denver’s Center for Urban Education (CUE) was established in 2004 as a partnership with Denver Public Schools (DPS) to ensure that young people and their families have access to a continuum of support that extends beyond the school day and school building and brings the university and its resources directly to their doorsteps.

This continuum of support encompasses tutoring, intervention and credit-recovery services to increase K-12 student achievement in core academic areas required for school and college success; enrichment programs and activities to build students’ motivation to learn, participate, and advocate for their own educational success; and family engagement to guide students and parents through college readiness requirements and processes, and build their confidence that opportunities for postsecondary education and workforce success are available to them.
