Tuition Lock Eligibility
Beginning in the Fall of 2022, MSU Denver will start locking the tuition rate for Undergraduate students. To determine your eligibility for the Tuition Lock, please review the categories listed below:
- Must be an undergraduate student.
To qualify for the four (4) year lock:
- Must be a first-time undergraduate student without previous college/university enrollment.
To qualify for the three (3) year lock:
- Must be a current undergraduate student admitted to MSU Denver before the Fall 2022 semester.
To qualify for the two (2) year lock:
- Must be an undergraduate transfer or re-admit student.
All students will only be eligible for one tuition lock during their time as an undergraduate.
Tuition Lock for New Students
The tuition for first-time undergraduate students is locked for four (4) years, effective beginning the first semester a student is accepted to MSU Denver. The Tuition Lock is available regardless of your residency status.
The tuition for first-time undergraduate students accepted for the Fall 2024, Spring 2025, or Summer 2025 semesters will be locked at the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 rate. The tuition for first-time undergraduate students accepted for the Fall 2023, Spring 2024, or Summer 2024 semesters will be locked at the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 rate. The tuition for first-time undergraduate students accepted for the Fall 2022, Spring 2023, or Summer 2023 semesters will be locked Fiscal Year 2022-2023 rate. The Mandatory Fees are not locked and will increase annually.
Tuition Lock for Transfer and Re-admit Students
The tuition for transfer or re-admit undergraduate students is locked for two (2) years, effective beginning the first semester a student is accepted to MSU Denver. The Tuition Lock is available regardless of your residency status.
The tuition for transfer or re-admit undergraduate students accepted for the Fall 2024, Spring 2025, or Summer 2025 semesters will be locked at the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 rate. The tuition for transfer or re-admit undergraduate students accepted for the Fall 2023. Spring 2024, or Summer 2024 semesters will be locked at the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 rate. The tuition for transfer or re-admit undergraduate students accepted for the Fall 2022, Spring 2023, or Summer 2023 semesters will be locked Fiscal Year 2022-2023 rate. Continuing Students
The tuition for continuing undergraduate students is locked for three (3) years, effective the Fall 2022 semester. The Tuition Lock is available regardless of your residency status.
The tuition for continuing undergraduate students will be locked at the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 rate. The Tuition Lock for this group of students will be terminated 3 years after the Fall 2022 semester, regardless of whether you are taking classes or not. Undergraduate Tuition Guarantee Groups
- * Continuing Students first enrolled prior to Fall 2022 pay Cohort TUI2223 rates until Summer 2025. See Tuition and Fee Rate Sheet for specific rates by Cohort.
- Most degree programs at MSU Denver can be completed in four years if a student completes a full-time course load (15 credits or more per semester). The guarantee encourages maintaining a schedule that allows for graduation within a four-year period. Students whose education at MSU Denver exceeds four years will pay the combined mandatory fee and tuition rate assigned to the group that went into effect the year following your initial group. (For example, if you were in Group Q for four years and plan to enroll for one more year, your original guarantee period has ended, and you then move into the current Tuition and Fee rate)
